Belmont Country Club
Belmont, Massachusetts
A Refined Expression of Boston-Area Golf
AMW Faves List
Favorite Par 3 – #5 – beautiful hole over water in the midst of the valley part of the course.
Favorite Par 4 – #1 – one of the best starting par 4s in Donald Ross’ quiver of arrows. Up the hill with a blind tee shot to a green mildly guarded by bunkers.
Favorite Par 5 – #9 – a wonderful hole to finish the front nine and the valley side of the course. A slight dogleg to the right sweeping along a pondon the righ and a well position bunker on the left. Play for par and if birdie tweets its way into the nest, great.
Favorite Hole Design – #4 – a spectacular Donald Ross, New England, designed par 5 that takes into account Mother Nature’s contours.
Easiest Hole – #14 straight and fairly short
Hardest Hole –
Favorite Extra Sighting –
Favorite Apres Golf – drinks on the terrace, walk along Newbury Street in Boston, any sporting event
Where to Stay – The Newbury Boston, The Whitney, Four Seasons, Eliot Hotel, XV Beacon, Raffles
