Course Review

Canoe Brook Country Club
Summit, New Jersey
laying Golf as it Was Intended
AMW Faves List
Favorite Par 3 – #5 – a stunning par 3 that plays over water to a flat green guarded by bunkers. Though the yardage is short, the challenges are real, and the walk from tee to green feels like a serene park stroll.
Favorite Par 4 – #4 – from every angle, this hole is beautiful and brimming with imagination. A straight shot from the tee leads to a green surrounded by nearly 180 degrees of water.
Favorite Par 5 – #18 – the final hole on the North Course is long and with lush fairways, it feels even longer. It’s a three-shot hole to the green. Period.
Favorite Hole Design – #12 – a well-designed par 5 that can be reached in two with precise shot-making. The uphill terrain adds a little extra yardage, and the bunkering is thoughtfully placed and very much in play.
Easiest Hole – #11 – it carries the highest handicap, and we agree, this is the best possible birdie opportunity on the course.
Hardest Hole – #6 – an old-school design where the yardage alone defines the challenge. The slight uphill adds a bit more, making it feel like a true trek.
Favorite Extra Sighting – beautiful flowers in the spring.
Favorite Apres Golf – visit to the USGA Golf Museum
Where to Stay – The Bernards Inn, Woolverton Inn
Where to Eat – Huntely Taverne, Il Mondo Vecchio, Fiorino
