Flint Hills National Golf Club
Andover, Kansas
Art of Golf, Masterfully Designed
AMW Faves List
Favorite Par 3 – #10 – an overall stunning hole, with water stretching from tee to green and requiring a full carry all the way to the pin.
Favorite Par 4 – #12 – calling this a big par 4 is an understatement. A tight chute frames the tee box, with a landing area scarcely wider. Even finding the green offers no guarantee of par, so thoughtful, disciplined play is essential.
Favorite Par 5 – #11 – a remarkable par 5 that demands a strong, accurate drive just to hold the fairway, followed by a daunting long second shot that defines the challenge of the hole.
Favorite Hole Design – #18 – such a brilliantly designed hole, made even better as the final act. While reaching in two is possible, playing it as a three-shotter is often the wiser choice.
Easiest Hole – #6 – short and sweet, yet with enough bite to keep you alert. A well-executed tee shot sets up an excellent chance for a bump-and-run to the pin.
Hardest Hole – #7 – a long par 4 that demands a strong, accurate tee shot to have any chance at hitting the green in regulation. The slightly uphill landing area adds to the effective yardage, making precision and power equally important.
Favorite Extra Sighting – various sculptures.
Favorite Apres Golf – chef-inspired dinner in the lodge.
