Favorite Par 3 – #8 – a rough-and-tough short par 4 at Hazeltine that hugs the pond from tee to green. Water controls every decision, demanding a bold line and a precise approach commit for birdie, hesitate and find the drink.
Favorite Par 4 – #10 – a sharp dogleg left calls for a precise tee shot. The downhill approach to a green tucked into Hazeltine Lake shortens the distance, but anything long is unforgiving making distance control is critical.
Favorite Par 5 – #7 – shorter than the other par 5s means little at Hazeltine. Going for the green in two demands a risky line between fairway and pond—pull it off for a big reward, miss it and pay the price.
Favorite Hole Design – #16 – One of the finest par 4s you’ll see. Hazeltine Lake and a winding creek frame the shot, while a hidden green sits beyond a vast expanse of turf. Thought, patience, and execution are key on this true gift to the game.
Easiest Hole – #2 – taking an aggressive line on this short dogleg left can leave just a short approach into the green. Boldness off the tee is rewarded here, making this an ideal opportunity for an early birdie and a confident start to the round.
Hardest Hole – #12 – the 12th is demanding and relentless. The tee shot is deceiving, with a dogleg right and bunkers tightening the inside line, while a pond guards the right side of the fairway on the back half.
