Hidden Ireland: Parkland Golf Tour

4-Day Self-Drive Journey

An AMW Self-Drive Irish Parkland Golf Tour unfolds at an unhurried pace, where quiet fairways, storied estates, and refined hospitality replace the crowds of the coast. It’s a more intimate expression of Irish golf, one defined by elegant parkland courses, scenic drives through rolling countryside, and the simple pleasure of discovering Ireland as it reveals itself, mile by mile.

Arriving in Dublin feels instantly familiar and wonderfully alive. The city greets you with warm accents, historic streets, and an easy rhythm where old pubs, Georgian doors, and modern cafés exist side by side. There’s a sense that time slows just enough to invite you in, perfectly setting the tone for a journey where hospitality, culture, and golf are simply part of the fabric of Irish life.

Day One

Arrive Dublin –> Mount Juliet

Plan to arrive at the Dublin International Airport (DUB) in the morning.  This will give you time to get your luggage, secure a rental car (or driver – AMW can assist with this), grab a cup of coffee, and begin your 1.5-hour journey to your first magical location, Mount Juliet.

An early afternoon tee time will allow plenty of time for the drive and an early lunch before donning the golf shoes for your first round in Ireland. Mount Juliet Golf Club, located in County Kilkenny, is one of Ireland’s most celebrated parkland courses. Set on the grounds of a stunning 17th-century estate, the course weaves through mature woodlands, gentle hills, and alongside the River Nore, offering both breathtaking scenery and strategic challenge. Known for its immaculate conditioning, signature holes, and thoughtful bunkering, Mount Juliet demands precision and creativity, rewarding golfers who can balance risk and strategy. Beyond the test of golf, the estate’s elegant architecture and tranquil surroundings create a truly immersive Irish experience, where history, luxury, and sport converge. And it is just a beautiful walk in an Irish park.  Don’t forget about the fun.
