It's AMW Story Time!

Johnny Morris.  Whether you know the name or not, you most certainly know the outdoor man’s bonanza - Bass Pro Shops (and now Cabela’s).  The history behind the company is just as interesting as the history of the area, that of the Osage.  Later AMW reviews will cover the 18-hole courses at Big Cedar and more about the history of the area, but this review will discuss mainly Mr. Morris and his vision, his dream, that is now the amazing par-3 course, Top of the Rock. 

Growing up in Springfield, Missouri to parents of modest beginnings, and at a time when a love of nature bellowed, Johnny found himself mesmerized and captivated by a pastime that filled the rivers of Missouri.  Bass fishing was becoming a fast and furious sport that grabbed Johnny by the heart, so much so that he spent time casting a line professionally.  And through the moments on the shores, in the boat, out on the streams, a new passion sprung.  That of retail.
