Pete Dye Course at French Lick
French Lick, Indiana
Through Countryside of Southern Indiana
AMW Faves List
Favorite Par 3 – #16 – A beautiful hole that can play as long as you dare to make it. With a lake guarding one side and bunkers lining the other, it demands a precise, committed shot from start to finish.
Favorite Par 4 – #12 – As a par 4, this hole is a true beast—long, punishing, and uncompromising. Two powerful, well-executed shots are required just to have a chance at reaching the green.
Favorite Par 5 – #7 – such a great hole on US soil. If you closed your eyes you would think you were in Scotland. Rolling links with a gentle dogleg left and a few pot style bunkering.
Favorite Hole Design – #18 – A magnificent finishing hole that embodies everything a par 5 should be. A sweeping dogleg left, iconic church-pew bunkering, and one of the largest greens you’ll find on any course combine to create a bold, memorable conclusion.
Easiest Hole – #5 – The straightest and shortest hole on the course. A well-placed drive leaves a short iron—or even a bump-and-run—setting up a prime scoring opportunity.
Hardest Hole – #16 – Along with being the best par 3 on the course, the 16th is also the most difficult. Par is an excellent score here, and even bogey is nothing to be ashamed of.
Favorite Extra Sighting – The Mansion at Pete Dye
Favorite Apres Golf – Pluto’s Alley for bowling, Spa treatments
Where to Stay – French Lick Resort
Where to Eat – French Lick, multiple restaurants
