Course Review

Llao Llao Resort Golf & Spa
Bariloche, Patagonia, Argentina
Mountain Golf Through Crystal Clear Lakes
AMW Faves List
Favorite Par 3 – #17 – the most demanding par 3 on the property, this hole plays to an elevated, heavily contoured green that requires a long-iron or hybrid carry over a valley. Deep pot bunkers guard both sides, wind frequently pushes shots offline, and recovery putts are anything but simple.
Favorite Par 4 – #3 – one of the toughest par 4s in Argentina, doglegs left to a narrow, tree-lined landing area before a long, uphill approach over a diagonal ditch. Strategic, beautiful, and demanding, it’s widely considered one of the course’s finest holes.
Favorite Par 5 – #15 – the 15th hole is the undisputed signature hole, ranked among the world’s top 500 and featured in 1001 Holes You Must Play Before You Die. A classic risk-reward design, it tempts big hitters to attack while punishing over-aggression with water, bunkers, and uneven lies.
Favorite Hole Design – #15 – often compared to Augusta National’s 15th for its uneven lies, lake carry, and tree framing, the 15th is the postcard hole that defines Olivos.
Easiest Hole – #8 – the course’s best birdie opportunity arrives at the par 5, 8th. Featuring a gentle dogleg right with cross bunkers off the tee and a sloped green that still demands a precise approach.
Hardest Hole – #5 – the 5th hole is the #1 index, this smooth dogleg right is guarded by out-of-bounds along the right and a ridged, “inverted plate” green, arguably the most demanding test on the course.
Favorite Extra Sighting – Mount Tronador – snow covered mountain on the Argentine-Chilean border.
Favorite Apres Golf – Hiking near the resort
Where to Stay – Llao Llao Resort
Where to Eat – Bechamel Clubhouse, La Masia, Il Gabbiano
